What is The Singing Experience
and how will
it benefit me?

The Singing Experience is a complete performance workshop where you will learn everything you need to be a well-rounded, confident performer.

Though singing, you will embark on an extraordinary voyage of self-discovery. In a nurturing atmosphere you'll learn more than technique; you will dare take risks, soar above your imagined limitations and discover the artist within.

The Singing Experience workshop is a total package comprised of six elements: four lively three-hour rehearsal sessions culminating in your performance at one of New York's top-notch cabarets, followed a week later by a videotape-viewing party where your performance is evaluated in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Enrollment is limited so that whatever your level, beginner or pro, you will get personal attention to ensure your progress. The rehearsals are geared to the needs of each class and so much happens that it's difficult to describe it all. We focus on both the technical and artistic aspects of performing.

Here's a small sample of the topics covered:

  • Vocal technique, warm-ups and explanations

  • Building confidence, dealing with stagefright

  • Proper microphone technique

  • Finding the right material for you

  • Working with an accompanist - experiment with arrangements, find your key and tempo

  • Getting the most out of a song through style and interpretation

  • In short, you'll learn total communication skills to truly perform your songs, not just sing them. Each workshop is specially designed to help you progress toward your goal: showing the world the star you really are.

  • You will be surrounded by an extraordinary production team, including a seasoned Musical Director/Accompanist who will generously share his/her talent and expertise with you. The show is professionally videotaped by Applause Video. Light and sound wizardry is provided by a brilliant Technical Director.
